Art
Around the Corner
The largest child-based program at the AMA is Art Around the Corner
-- a collaborative project with the Arlington Independent School District.
Each year, the AMA reaches nearly 1,000 students with this program,
and the number continues to grow. AAC invites fifth grade students
from nearby schools to tour the museum and participate in a hands-on
art activity with a professional artist. Students have a fun time while
learning about art and utilizing their own creativity as well.
Summer
Art Around the Corner
When the school year ends, the AMA continues reaching out to Arlington children
with the Summer Art Around the Corner program. Children from neighboring agencies
such as the Boys & Girls Club of Arlington and the Women's Shelter visit
the museum for exhibition tours and activities. Kids have fun exploring the galleries
with the Artivity Guide workbook and always enjoy creating their own artwork.
