to Submit Your Art Work for Consideration at the AMA
If you are an artist living in Texas and would like to have your
work considered for exhibition at the Arlington Museum of Art, the
AMA's exhibition committee would like to hear from you.

Call
for Exhibition Proposals
The Arlington Museum of Art is seeking exhibition proposals from
Texas artists and curators as it develops its 2006-2007 calendar.
The
AMA is a non-collecting museum whose mission is to showcase Texas
contemporary art. The museum has a reputation for creative, provocative
group exhibitions in a variety of media on contemporary themes.
The museum is interested in proposals for exhibitions for the main
5,000 square foot gallery (189 lineal feet of wall space) and in
exhibitions, installations, or special projects for the 1,500 square
foot mezzanine galleries (roughly three equal spaces -- appx. 55
lineal feet of wall space each) or the Artist Project Space (one
gallery, appx. 55 lineal feet of wall space). Exhibitions typically
run for two-three months.
Proposals
from Curators should consist of
1.
a curator's statement (no more than two pages in length)
2. list of artists or works proposed, including
number of art works
3. slides of sample art works
4. exhibition budget
5. catalog or other support materials, if show
was created for another venue
6. press on the artists or the art works if
appropriate
Proposals from Artists should consist of:
1. an artist's statement (no more than two pages in length)
2. 5-10 slides of art works
3. slide list
4. exhibition budget, if applicable
5. press on the artist, or exhibition catalog
Proposals should be addressed to The Arlington Museum of Art, Attn:
Exhibition Committee, 201 West Main Street, Arlington, TX 76010. All
proposals should be accompanied by an SASE. The Exhibition Committee
meets several times throughout the year. Please allow four-five months
for return of materials.
