Sergei and the Seasons

  • Arlington Museum of Art 201 West Main St Arlington United States (map)

We are celebrating 2 famous composers with the first name of Sergei! Sergei Rachmaninoff not only composed the greatest and most beautiful piano concertos, but also songs, which are not often performed. Our tenor Don O’Neal LeBlanc will perform his most loved songs by Rachmaninoff, and soprano Judith Rodriguez will sing the beautiful Rachmaninoff “Vocalise” and more. Sergio Cepeda will sing a Russian folk song and preview his November program. All will be accompanied by pianist Dr. Heejung Kang, violinist LeeAnne Chenoweth, and cellist Dr. Sara Birnbaum Hood. The instrumental trio will also perform “Romeo and Juliet Suite” by Sergei Prokofiev, music in chamber music form from his most famous score for ballet. We have also found some colorful music that describes the seasons. Post-concert party as usual with complimentary wine and soft drinks, fruit/cheese/desserts buffet, and pianist Erik Barnes will take your musical requests. Table seating for 2 or up to 9. $33-15. Tickets and info at timelessconcerts.com. Concert 8:00 pm, (doors open no earlier than 7:30.)
